Tiger Mountain Vineyards was the first of its kind in Georgia, a pioneer that decided to grow noble European grapes where others only saw wilderness.

The, uh, the Ezard family, when they, uh, planted European vinifera, uh, vinifera being a European, uh, wine grape, um, we were the first vineyard to successfully, uh, have a harvest and turn it into, uh, you know, a home-brewed Georgia wine.

Um, 1998, uh, we had our harvest, and 1999 was our earliest vintage.

Um, a couple other vineyards, uh, which won't be named, try to lay claim to, to that distinction, but we have verified that we are the oldest, uh, vineyard producing European vinifera here in Georgia.

Uh, so I think one of the things that I'm able to do is spot talent, and I just knew pretty quickly, uh, that Luke was special.
