Like, maybe share your story on how you got up and running.
11:07
Sure.
11:07
I'll try to do it succinctly for you and your audience, Brett.
11:10
When I was graduating college, I graduated Rutgers College in 2000.
11:16
And if I remember correctly, at the time, the job market was very hot.
11:20
meaning you could get a fair number of entry-level jobs.
11:24
I had a degree in, I think, marketing from the Rutgers School of Business.

When someone asks you the question, what is the most memorable buy? But what is a time where you approach someone and through your discovery and questions, you are presented with a, some cards, some memorabilia, something that stood out and was so significant to you that you could hardly believe you had the opportunity to acquire it.
13:22
This isn't new, right? But if you do have somebody that's new, their first or second national, and they've never done it, i can see how that would be frustrating to them uh given the what psa would say on the front end of yeah we'll be able to do end of day or end of week or whatever blah blah blah you and i know better that that's that'll last about 12 hours and then they'll have to change what they're saying and okay um what about traffic at your table in terms of deals being done did you find more bigger deals was it a bunch of small stuff like how does that work and then second part of that what players were moving what were people asking about what kind of things did you find really popular with people at the show
14:13
sure i'd be happy to answer mike and i just want to clarify when you say deals do you mean folks coming to our booth to buy from us both both ends both sides yeah sure so in regards to how busy our booth was let me just take a moment to say thank you to not only just my regular team but a really good friend of mine todd comes now he's a collector toddson ryan's you know now he's a team really into Pokemon.
14:42
And then a really good friend of mine, Charles, has been part of kind of like the Just Collect community for a number of years.
14:47
He's a collector.
14:49
If I didn't have these, call it friends, and their fringe help, which by the way, their fringe help was they were basically at my booth at least half the time.
14:58
Meaning we were so busy that if it wasn't for this additional help and several members of my team, we were already, or I can speak for myself, I was standing when I was at my booth the entire time.
15:11
The only time I would be sitting at my booth if I was using the computer to try to work on a deal, because I just find it easier to sit down while working on a computer than standing.

24:48
Well, first my thanks for the opportunity to
15:29
Will you have some shirts? Because I love your shirts, by the way.
15:32
We do.
15:33
We'll have some shirts for those that swing on by and either want to sign up or wear our swag at the convention.
15:40
We greatly appreciate it.
15:41
But I want to point this out because I know for me, this is what I've been doing.
15:45
The national...
15:47
Let's just say for a minute you're going to go, Mike.

14 MINS LATER

29:27
What's yours?
16:09
Right, right, right.
16:09
And so lo and behold, it turns out we're gonna be chatting tomorrow.
16:13
Maybe it's related to the Teddy ball game, maybe it's not, but the point is he was talking about in some cases not that he wants to consolidate his collection, but he wants to go after some better or bigger cards before he feels like he's completely priced out.
16:27
And so what happened is because I know him and I know his intention and, uh, he made it very easy and I, I think I made it easy for him as well, all of a sudden we reached a deal for a, you know, the Ted Williams play ball.
16:41
I mean, you could look it up.
16:41
I think a three is about $7,000ish, and that card certainly did not used to be that.
16:47
But Mike, what he did was he leveraged some of the cards in his collection that maybe didn't quite fit anymore, 'cause he's not doing that set or let's say he was gonna do a Mantle run.

12 MINS LATER

28:55
That totally makes sense.
