How optimistic do you feel about the next wave of players coming through in the men's space?

Yeah, I'm really optimistic.

The one thing I think that I take from the World Cup campaign is pride.

I think Baze has done an unbelievable job on aligning the professional football clubs, aligning us all to a plan and to a vision and the players coming through I think the reformatted National League from next year will add huge value to these players if you look at the All Whites the number of games that they played in the National League before kicking on was pivotal to their development Auckland and the Phoenix are doing some great work in that space.

The game's more aligned than it ever has been in my time here in 15 years in New Zealand in terms of pointing players towards those pathways.

So we can only gather momentum from here.

And I'm really looking forward to seeing how the 16s in PNG, the 17s at the end of the year at the World Cup, the 19s in Samoa this year and onto the World Cup next year.

Are all positions developing at the same speed, or are there positions where you think, shivers, we could do with another couple of left-backs or whatever it might be?
