Walk me through the mix of emotions here, because to go so damn close, at what point in the day did you think you were in, or the weekend for that matter, in with a real good chance of maybe winning another one?
2:05
It was pretty – it was probably coming into the last pit stop.
2:10
I thought, you know, Anton had caught right up on the back of Zach Bates and we knew that we had fuel in hand.
2:16
I had JC, James Courtney, next to me and he was listening into the coverage and they were talking about how – um, Zach had another four, uh, or we had another four laps of fuel on Zach Bates.
2:29
So we knew we were going to jump him.
2:31
And to be honest, you know, I've been in this situation before where you feel like you've, you know, you get ahead of yourself and you think that we got this in the bag.
2:40
And I, I certainly didn't want to do that again.

8:47
Um, if you have, how have you processed the past week and a half?
16:10
Yeah
16:10
... around that place.
16:11
Um, so even, you know, with two laps to go, I was still...
16:15
You know, my main concern was around Brodie Kostecki getting through and, and putting the pressure on us, but I also knew that we had good tires.
16:22
Um, Anton had been saving the tires and conserving, um, prior to that safety car, so I sort of felt quite confident.
16:29
But I didn't, I didn't know about the fuel issues, um, because I wasn't listening in on the radio.
16:36
I was sort of trying to tune out and make the time go a little faster.
18:14
Again, you're not gonna level that criticism at Anton at all?
2:09
I guess everyone wants to know, and I know you've done a few interviews, but I think everybody wants to know, and I know you don't want to point the finger at too many people, but how does this happen? Who's responsible? Was it driver error? Was it team error? I mean, what's been the discussion?
2:27
Look, I... haven't really like, I basically just, you know, everyone was pretty devastated within the team and I was just trying to support everyone.
2:36
Um, everyone did such an incredible job all week and all day yesterday.
2:41
Um, but obviously, you know, there was a mistake and, um, and, uh, you know, it was a miscalculation in some way with the fuel numbers.
2:51
Um, Yeah, it was certainly nothing Anton did.
2:55
He saved as much as he was told to do.
2:59
And then in the end, when he was told to save so much, it was unrealistic.
4:35
um can for those that don't know a lot about the v8 supercar that those that don't know a lot about the engine just as a driver can you just give us some context into how the driver would save fuel
5:07
How you going? Man, what a tough old day at the racetrack that one was, but actually not a bad result then, where that car finished short of mid-pack.
5:13
Yeah, considering we had two spins, a couple of roughs, and then, I don't know, that's probably the...
5:19
Wisdom of a lot of cars out there today.
5:21
Actually, I turned around at the start too.
5:22
Yeah, I got that.
5:24
No, actually, the car was really good.
5:25
In the full wet, when it bucketed down like it was a monsoon.
5:47
that thing was trying to kill you, were you thinking, I'm getting too old for this shit?
27:15
What brings the circle back around for you to be driving with Dave Reynolds and a teammate in Camaro?
27:21
There were a couple of factors.
27:22
I mean, Adrian reached out to me and I'd had previous experience with Adrian at Walkinshaws back in 15 when I was with Charlie as a customer car and we got on great.
27:38
I really respect what Adrian does and his knowledge and experience and everything like that and he's also a mate.
27:44
So, um it was he came chasing pretty hard and and then the the other factor was the reynolds factor you know us being teammates in 2022 um we get on so well we're good mates um we understand each other um you know we're constantly talking and everything so it was Like those two guys together, it was like, you know, this could work.
28:11
You know, obviously there was some...
28:15
There was the fact that, you know, it didn't finish so well with Charlie last time was...

Oh, yeah.
13:55
It's worth it.
13:56
And it's funny because you get out and you go, I could have maybe gone a bit quicker, but I'm actually – it wasn't that we like we were pushing to get the lap time and there was nothing in reserve it's just you didn't feel like you had to rag it to get the time it was like it was comfortable to do it the more you push the more you would actually you you wouldn't you wouldn't gain anything from pushing any harder so You're kind of in this real comfort zone with the car where you just let the car do what it could do.
14:30
You're sounding very Brock here.
14:31
This is, I like it.
14:33
Yeah.
14:34
And then when we put the polariser in, it went even better.
14:40
No, and then Chas jumps in for next session, tops that.
