And that's always where I was politically.

I never was one of those people that...

Because at the time, there were a lot of people... that didn't appreciate the language, that thought that I was rocking the boat.

And I was like, fuck the boat, break the boat, build the new fucking boat.

Amazing.

I did g- have to come back to New York to do the Leading Ladies at, uh, Carnegie Hall.

And when I came back to do that, film that, I was able to pick up, I had b- actually gotten a bunch of different awards, and then I had to take them on the [laughs] road with me.

So every time I went to a dressing room, which is horrifying, I would have to put out, like it owed me, a Theatre World Award, a Drama Desk.

Now, what does it mean to you to be presenting this award?

I am so excited that Maddie is being given this award.

It's such a freaking honor to get a Theatre World Award, to be recognized for your very first work in New York City.

It's

called reclamation.

It's a political tool.

We hardly are the first people to do it.

No, no, no, no, no. It's been used throughout history.

So whenever anybody gives me, I mean, you know me, I don't have a lot of patience.

So whenever anybody says, yeah.

hope that you're really proud of it.

That is just, you are just asking for death.

Are you fucking kidding me? I mean, I got a mouth, right? And that, that's the other thing.

My comedy, that's how I was able to do 15 minutes.

It's all very improvisational when you see me.

I mean, I know I'm gonna talk about something, and then I just start talking.

And so that was how I got to 15 minutes.
