Sabrina GebhardtHOST
So I would love to know, do you remember the first room that you were in that changed something for you as an attendee, just in a room that you were invited into where you were like, oh, okay, this is different than anything else?

Laylee EmadiGUEST
For me, I honestly the first, the reason it's twofold is because the first like time that I got like, quote unquote, in the room, and I went to a conference, and I went outside my comfort zone, it did not, it wasn't the typical experience of like, life changing immediately.

And, and I used to say, and I still say, like that's, that's how I would t- teach somebody to teach, is like you create the curriculum, the information, you gather the information in a way that makes sense to you.

Laylee EmadiGUEST
You test that teaching, you make sure that the teaching has a, a strong response and is, is actually resonating with people and is actually helping people, and then you sell it.

But as somebody who wants to monetize speaking, like, where do they go? Like, how do they start?

Laylee EmadiGUEST
This is such an interesting topic in general, and I think a big part of why I do this is because there's so much information out there.

Laylee EmadiGUEST
And I wouldn't say misinformation, but there's just so much information that you're not sure w- like, which one to listen to, like, who to listen to in this, in this environment.

Laylee EmadiGUEST
So I think, first of all, understanding the difference between being a professional speaker and then being a professional in your industry who speaks.

Laylee EmadiGUEST
And so professional speakers typically get paid a lot to go and speak, and then they leave, and that's it.

Is it a lot of just, like, cold calling, just, like, re- outreach? Is there a, is a, is there a strategy to it?
