I think it's looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

He- what he's trying to do is bring the Republican SAVE Act and shove it down into our realm, and I think it's unnecessary entirely.

We already have checks and balances in place to prove citizenship when you register to vote, and our clerks do a great job of catching that.

I think the burden of the additional, um, policies in the SAVE Act right now in its current form will prevent people who are legally allowed to vote from voting.

If you are old enough that you can't obtain an original dr- uh, birth certificate, if you've married or divorced, if you're adopted, and just simply can't find one that matches your current name, then it's gonna be an additional fee for you, and then you have to either bring that in to the clerk's office physically to register to vote.

It's just, it seems like it's an undue burden.
