Yeah.

Um, and it was kind of like the passing of the baton from, like, me and Wongie made our debut together and was opening bowling, and Catherine and Anya kind of both gave us our cap.

So, um, it was pretty special.

And I think it was, like, bit, like, quite a big moment, I guess, for, like, kind of the end of their careers and the start of our careers and passing that on.

So yeah, it was, it was pretty cool.

And obviously to do it in a test match was, yeah, it was pretty special.

Yeah.

So thankfully I had Linds.

How, how do I do that? And it was basically bounce, pace, swing, movement.

Um, so we just kind of looked at a few things in my action and worked out how we would do that and over the course of the change of the action or, or just it was a tiny little s- tweak, but it meant I was more upright, and it just completely changed where the movement I got of the ball, which was fine, but it meant that obviously that changes your plans and where it goes and everything like that.

So it was a really tricky period.

Um, but obviously came out the other side and now I feel like I've just got more layers to my game, which at the top of the game against the best players in the world, you can't just have one option.

It's very ...

You feel very, um, I can't think of the word, but, like, you don't have a lot of pl- areas to hide if you've only got one option, whereas I feel like I have a lot of different options depending on the day and who I'm playing against and what might be going right or wrong.

... how do you do that?

Um, was that a fitness thing or a team bonding thing?

No, it was very much a team bonding thing.

I think getting this team in the best place, getting to know everybody, and understanding everyone inside out is gonna be crucial.

I think coming into this World Cup playing knockout cricket, I think when you can really, really trust and, and have a lot of respect for your teammates and know what they need when they're really under pressure is, is gonna be really crucial in, um, in, in this format.

And I think we've obviously, um, lost games in the past where we could have got over the line, and I think it's something that, yeah, we've really worked hard to really understand why we might not have done that.

And I think a lot of it is probably not a skill, and it's very much a mindset and a understanding each other and how to get the best out of each other in those pressure situations.

So yeah, the, the army camp was, was about that.

Being in the IPL and playing in the IPL, does that stand you in good stead to handle the pressure of what a home World Cup tournament, um, and the pressure you'll be under to try and win that, um, for the, obviously for England?

um and then when you were bought by RCB was there like an I don't know whether agreement is the right word but conversations about actually fulfilling quite a big role this year

well no it's really really interesting well I before the draft had no real expectation I obviously I'd been at UP and then I'd I'd not been picked up in the final year like being at UP pulled out not being picked up so I I didn't really have much expectation I didn't you can't really second guess how drafts are going to go or auctions or Um, so yeah, when I, when I did get picked up, it was obviously like, it was a nice surprise and I was like super excited, but still then I hadn't spoken to the head coach before I'd got to, well, I'd said hi and I was really excited, but I didn't, hadn't spoken about my role.

So even like the first like few days of being out there, I wasn't, I'm like before I flew, I wasn't a hundred percent sure.

One, if I was going to play and two, yeah.

I mean, if I play, I know my role because I always do the same thing.

I know why I get picked, but.

Yeah, I honestly didn't know what to expect before I went out there.

And there's proof there that it was worth it.
