Do you love the pressure and the intenseness that it brings? Um, when you were first appointed to be captain, walk us through the emotion of that for you
30:16
youUm, I remember when it first happened, I- it was kind of sudden.
30:22
Um, it wa- it was something that I thought I'd maybe do one day, um, but it was a little earlier than I expected in my career.
30:29
Um, so I had to think about it a little bit if I was sort of ready for the opportunity.
30:33
Um, but yeah, then I ended up taking it and had a lot to learn at first, um, 'cause I was just ...
30:40
I've always just been a batter growing up and didn't have much captaincy experience, and now I've sort of got the, got to tell the bowlers what I think they should do, and that was, yeah, that was a lot of learning, um, 'cause I've never bowled really in my life.
30:52
So that was, that was hard.

Even though you didn't win the trophy, what did that tournament teach you about resilience?
4:18
Mm.
4:18
So growing up, sort of didn't really know that it existed.
4:21
Um, a lot of my friends were boys at school, and they played cricket, so I just played along with them.
4:27
I'd no idea we had a Proteas team or that there was any kind of, or other girls that played cricket.
4:32
So yeah, the day when I found out there were other girls, I was like, "Whoa." It was like a revelation sort of to see that other girls playing cricket.
4:39
Um, and yeah, obviously made my debut pretty young for the Proteas.
4:42
There wasn't really, like, a, a pipeline in place like there is now.
