It's on the calendar.
14:46
I've been very lucky because this is another kind of a theater world.
14:51
I've built a lot of relationships over the years.
14:53
Even before I started the magazine, I started to create the network of writers and creators who would come together to be a part of this magazine.
15:03
Now, issue number one was interesting because it was definitely a, hey, you guys, I got a barn.
15:08
Let's put on a show.
15:09
I'm going to make a magazine.

16 MINS LATER

31:20
had a robust aroma, right? That's
30:01
So how did you land there?
30:05
Because I have a background in advertising and I as, I've been a creative director on and off throughout my life, I've, I definitely have developed a more visual aesthetic.
30:15
And that cover itself, oh man, that cover was actually shot about a week before we had to go to print.
30:23
I was not entirely sure what we were going to do, how we were gonna do it.
30:26
But I remember it was just a real mental process of allowing my brain to wander-To think about what this would look like and what expressed geezer i- in its most pure form, and eventually landed on the mix tape.
30:43
Um, it's just such a totem of...
30:45
It's such a totem of Gen X.
33:18
I think a lot of people are willing to say yes because of that.
6:08
What was missing from the conversations that you were seeing about aging when it came to Gen X-ers?
6:13
X-ers?Yeah.
6:16
Um, you know, when I was surveying the, the, the landscape of, of what was being talked about, things really felt, um, superficial.
6:25
Uh, I was getting, all of a sudden I, I was getting, you know, uh, pop-ups on my social media or whatever, and they're trying to sell me the top 10 ways to get more fiber into my body.
6:38
[laughs] And I thought, "That's really not my main concern here." The main concerns of our generation are, like I was saying, very different from the previous generation.
6:49
Um, a lot of us are dealing with, uh, having kids, ra- still raising kids while our parents are, um, experiencing decline.
6:59
And in fact, one of the most beautiful stories in issue number one is, is, uh, uh, a personal narrative by a woman named Kim Cross.
10:26
Why would you make a print magazine now?
