So what are you trying to do or have been doing to reach out to youth, reach out, uh, to entities that can help youth and be part of your, you know, basket of things that you're putting forward?
11:06
Well, you know, we, we have what you call the Gen Z's on our team, and we do what do young people think.
11:15
We have had town halls specifically with, um, with Gen Z's and Millennials to just give them a voice in shaping our democracy.
11:27
Um, I'll be doing some, um, uh, town halls with the youth on the 13th to talk about voting and the power of voting and getting their, uh, message for me as I go to, uh, Congress to take their voice.
11:46
I mean, I hear it, youth all the time.
11:49
One, I got a daughter that's 22, and she's just finished college.
11:54
College is not affordable.
13:56
Yeah

61:11
Even if you could go and afford college, the tuition and the room and board, you're away from home, and you can't afford the cost of living away from home.
63:11
Yeah
53:47
What's, what's, uh, your next 30 days looking like?
53:49
You know, we are in agreement here.
53:51
I think it's all about a coordinated campaign, making sure that we send a message out about voting has consequences.
53:59
And we see that now with the current administration and the control in Washington and how things are impacting everyone's lives.
54:10
People that voted for a Republican regime are feeling the impact.
54:16
And so, you know, we have to make sure people recognize that this country has come a long way.
54:21
There was a time where Black men couldn't vote.

18 MINS LATER

72:08
Yeah.
21:51
But LaShawn Ford had an interesting take on the question.
21:54
I don't think that it's overwhelming the issue, but I do think that people are aggravated about Black people [laughs].
22:01
You know what I mean? Like, sometimes that becomes a punching bag, and people start saying, "See? All of our tax dollars are being wasted in Chicago."
22:26
He does.
22:27
Me being a Black man, even though this country's been good to me, it still could be frustrating being in a minority, and that's the way they feel.
22:37
They know what it feels like to be in a minority and not be able to have the sway that they would like.
