all that happen? Oh, man, such a good question.

So I graduated from residency in 2012, was fortunate to land my dream job.

I was at an academic institution, lived a couple blocks from the beach, was doing all the things that I had envisioned and dreamed myself doing, you know, running our residency program.

protected research time, really the dream career.

And the turning point happened for me.

I was actually on an assignment to go to Europe.

What is that?

... like gradually increasing the price, what have been some lessons or some beliefs or some insights that you've had in selling these things that have helped you to grow?

[lip smack] I think the very first lesson, um, came from that first call with you, which is just, like, allowing yourself to do it.

[chuckles] Like, just giving yourself permission to even, like, tell your story.

Like, I had a real story, and I really was successful, but I was afraid to say that out loud, and I was afraid to monetize it.

Um, so, like, giving yourself permission to, to, to lean into your awesomeness, to lean into your expertise, um, and to, and to make money from what you have worked hard to learn how to do and, and allowing yourself-- I remember you telling me, Colin, that I had to shift my mindset that it was, it, it, I was, I was, um, withholding service from, like, mankind by not putting myself out there in the world, um, that that's how I needed to see it.

And, and that was a mental switch for me that like, okay, I have value and, um, I'm, I'm actually doing people a disservice by not putting it out there.

So I allowed to see my call as a coach similar to, like, my call in medicine.
