One of the things I've played with is there are animated backgrounds.
0:03
And if you find the right place, you can actually replace them with whatever you want.
0:08
So I've made some very interesting animated backgrounds, primarily for entertainment's sake.
0:15
So this one is not distracting at all.
0:17
Completely hypnotized by the end of the
0:20
episode.
0:23
So if you've ever watched Muppets from Space, here's the cover for Muppets from Space animated.
0:27
Very interesting.
21:04
Their job is not worth as much as seven lines down in a beer production factory.
21:10
Actually, I think that's a simple test we could have here, right? The head of IT, if they can answer the, what does a minute of downtime cost on your systems? If they can answer that question, they can potentially understand the OT mindset, right? Because In OT, we talk in that language.
21:30
We talk in the language of expense.
21:32
We talk in minutes of downtime or hours of downtime and millions of dollars.
21:39
If when we talk to our IT manager, if our IT manager can say, okay, we're going to install this new patch on every one of our systems, it's going to be down for 30 minutes to install this patch, and it's going to cost us X million dollars of productivity, then maybe they're prepared to start looking at the OT space.
22:00
But until they think in that sort of mindset for everything they do, I'm not sure they want to be in the OT space.

32:31
And what I always say is hope is not a strategy.
32:35
So Ken's example actually brings a good point, though.
12:43
Yes.
12:44
Um, one of the One of the things that I found really interesting when I joined this team, when I started being involved in security, is I'd never even heard of the term data diode before.
12:58
And when we talk about network and the connection between IT and OT, that actually ends up being a very, very powerful tool as well.
13:09
Not just a firewall which can manage the data, but still allows data to go in both ways.
13:15
a data diode can be very, very powerful to help keep that network secure because that Windows NT box might be there for a reason, and it might be the only thing that can run the software that's running the ancient whatever robot arm that's critical for that process.
13:34
So, yeah, that was one of the things that I discovered recently, discovered when I joined the security world.

31:05
It is very helpful to know.
31:06
I did want to go back.
