Do they need to immediately go for DNA fragmentations?

got you it's a really good question and I guess there's quite a lot of conversation on this topic as to whether it's something that should be routine and at the minute there's not a guideline that would say that every person who's coming into a fertility clinic should be tested especially in the early stages however it's one of those things that so semen analysis as you say is like has been around and has been the mainstay for male fertility assessment for decades and it is does provide really important information as you've spoken about you know whether there are sperm there that are present that's the first step to understand how they move what they look like but what it doesn't tell you is that how um the kind of genetic integrity of the sperm.
20:16
And so that is when you think about it, one of the most important things that you can understand, because it's only the DNA that is traveling kind of forward in the journey.
20:25
Once it's once it's passed fertilization, that's the only part of the sperm that's kind of making it through.
20:30
So you want to make sure that that's as good quality as possible.
20:33
So if semen analysis isn't really telling you as much about that, then you've got potentially an incomplete assessment of sperm.
20:42
And so early on, you could consider that if you are trying for a baby and you're in that preconception period, perhaps you've been trying for three to six months.
