Now, I was wondering, why is it that this is a genre you're so passionate about?
1:22
Um, well, let's just say, I guess, uh, I did had a lot of stuff trapped inside me my whole life.
1:31
Uh, I thought it would be a good genre to introduce the world to who Kurt Deimer is and what Kurt Deimer can do.
1:40
Um, there's such a passionate, uh, following of horror in our culture and they're what's beyond they're fun to do and i just thought you know this is my first because i shot this movie uh before scared to death so this is really my first big lead role and kevin gave me the reins to be me and let loose and do what i wanted to do with the character to bring bull to life along with my brother tickles and I just can't think of a better way to kind of introduce the world to what I can do than, you know, in these types of movies where I can morph into all these different personalities and the genre of horror lends itself to that.
2:31
But, you know, I'll continue to do other things besides horror in the future.
2:36
love comedy, and I've got a drama coming out called Relapse.
2:41
So this was a great way, I thought, to introduce myself to the world and what I can do.

What was that process like for you? And did it actually change your character or your understanding of the film along the way as you're writing these tunes?
5:29
And Kurt, how about yourself?
5:31
Yeah, I never imagined this would happen in my life, but I started my own oil companies above my garage in 1999, and they started to really boom in the later... around two thou- after 2010.
5:49
A lot of hard work, like 18, 20-hour days building it from scratch with little money.
5:56
And I got my pro- I started doing some product placements in movies.
6:01
And I went down.
6:03
I told my guy, I go, "I'll do this movie." It was John Travolta and Shania Twain, it was Trading Paint.
6:10
And I said, "I'll..." It was Toby Sebastian, all the Game of Thrones people were real hot then.

16:32
I know that's gotta be pretty important for you.
8:35
Tell me about your director, one of the co-stars, and then the cast of this film.
8:39
Yeah, Kevin Wayne would never have happened without him, and we were fortunate enough to meet on that little project.
8:47
They never went anywhere.
8:49
And, uh, we did some early music videos together with my music, which will probably never be seen, but maybe someday, I don't know.
8:56
They're fun, but, uh, it's, uh, We came together that way and just had a friendship.
9:03
He's real calm and mellow like me in real life.
9:07
He knew what I could do acting-wise.
12:12
So when you were starting in this business, when you say, what does it mean an oil brand? Like oil like in your car?
2:50
So are you friends with Kevin in real life? And for people who don't know, he's the director and he also plays Tickles in the movie.
2:56
Yeah, I went down to shoot that movie Trading Paint in September of 17.
3:02
I was just doing a cameo for my oil brand, and they offered me a SAG contract.
3:08
They needed a track announcer.
3:09
They liked my look.
3:11
I said, I'll do it.
3:12
Next thing you know, I'm an actor, and I never expected that.

10 MINS LATER

13:39
Have you had a chance to watch it with with an audience yet?
0:20
But, uh, so how did you get involved in Scared to Death?
0:23
Well, that's, that's my friend Paul Boyd, um, the director.
0:27
He, uh, had shot a, a few of my music videos for my songs off my debut album And So It Begins from last year, and Burn Together and Naive and Big Toe.
0:39
And we got to know each other and talk about other, uh, projects, and he had, you know, known about my movie coming out this fall, Hillbilly Hollow, that I had shot before, and, um, that Andy Gould was involved, came on as a producer on that later in the project.
0:54
And, uh, he had this script, Scared to Death, and he said, uh, "Lin Shaye and Bill Moseley are interested in doing this movie," and which really intrigued me.
1:06
And he said, "And I have this character, the Grog, Gregory Grogstone, who's a horror icon, and I want you to play the Grog because I like how you are in everyday life and who you are, and peace, kindness.
1:20
You're, you're not scared of the world, and I just want you to play this horror icon, and then you can, uh, show what you can do alongside Lin and Bill." And they took on characters that they normally wouldn't play, and next thing you know I'm like, "Okay, I, I wanna be the Grog, and I wanna prove to you and everybody else that I can be in a room with Lin and Bill and show people how I act before Hillbilly Hollow comes out." Because then when Hillbilly comes out, people will see how I am in real life as the Grog in Scared to Death, in this great film with names such as Bill and Lin.
