So I'm gonna just turn it over to you, and we'll see what, what we come up with together.
3:38
Sounds great.
3:39
Yeah, so I guess a tiny bit of what inspired this, well, for one, my, my holistic approach, right? So my holistic approach to, to, to my own recovery and just well-being in life is informed by, you know, all these different aspects that I take into account, and that helps me to feel well and healthy, you know, no matter where I am, right? So that was kind of in mind.
4:07
And then also, um, I noticed on, I think it was your Instagram, um, that you had been doing some traveling, and I don't know, I don't know the context behind it.
4:18
Um, but I was thinking that, um, ways to support stability despite moving variables is something that we could have a chat about because whether it is for voluntary travel, you know, if you're feeling the call of adventure, right? Or if you need to make a trip across the country for a loved one who's sick, a family emergency, or it's a work trip, or honestly, it doesn't even have to be, you know, any sort of trip.
4:47
These are still things that, um, people might consider in sort of like incorporating into their, um, their t- their boxes, box of tools, um, and the resources to help them to maintain, you know, feeling good mentally and physical, mentally and physically, no matter what.
5:05
And, um, so I've done a lot of travel in my life and, um, I have developed sort of a toolkit of portable, you know, portable toolkit that invokes, you know, um, inner resources, external resources that I can bring with me no matter where I go.

5:24
So, um, for example, like physiological things, um, and I have, I brought some things just to kinda like show and tell 'cause I thought it'd be fun since we're meeting on Zoom.

Traveling and taking care of your dietary needs.
9:44
Yeah.
9:44
Like how some people are like, "My last sip was..." you know, and they say the exact date 20 years ago.
9:49
For me, it wasn't exactly like that.
9:50
It was just kind of like, you know, reducing, reducing, reducing, reducing.
9:55
And like for example, I did, you know, there were many times when like I'm gonna stop drinking 'cause bad things would happen.
10:00
I would do [laughs] bad things.
10:02
It, things would just not work out well.

22 MINS LATER

31:45
... something like that.
3:40
But I would love to get started in you sharing a little bit about your background and how you got into the work and your approach that you're doing today.
3:50
It has definitely been circuitous.
3:53
I feel like I've had so many evolutions in my life.
3:57
And I'd say short story is I started, well, I would say since part of what's really relevant about our chatting today and one of the ways that we are connected is regarding eating disorder history.
4:10
So I will just start by saying that started when I was young.
4:14
I don't remember exactly like some people with trauma.
4:17
I don't really remember very much of the past, but I'm guessing that I started maybe around like 12 with binge eating.

26 MINS LATER

30:23
And I know that There can be a confusion of like, well, is sensory work somatic work? So I'm also wondering like how you see them as two different things.
10:43
Mm-hmm.
10:43
My experience was it kind of faded, and I think there was a series of things that, that kind of moved the needle.
10:50
Um, and they all...
10:52
Yeah, I think that, that they all really contributed.
10:55
Um, I think one thing importantly for me was, was the nutrition, uh, working with that food addiction coach, um, who supported me in, in my nutrition, uh, which is now, um, largely animal-based slash, you know, keto, carnivore type of thing.
11:10
Um, and at the time that I was working with her, I was also doing, like, weighed and measured meals, and I think just, like, the support around that was really monumental because it created a mindset shift.
11:23
Like, it was someone giving me permission to be who I wanted to be, to do what I wanted to do, and not to force me to be someone different than what I was, which I felt was generally what was happening as I was going to treatment for my eating disorder, working, you know, doing, you know, the therapy, the IOP, the residential.
12:12
Yeah
