I know
35:46
... and then when you consider that Canada has socialized medicine, this is the very entity that is supposed to be providing healthcare for people, and instead they're giving them a fast-track off-ramp, um, at a time when their healthcare system is increasingly so burdened.
36:01
You know, people are waiting 28 weeks to start specialized treatment.
36:05
People are waiting m- um, I think it's, like, six months to get an MRI.
36:09
Uh, it, it is just astounding.
36:10
You have wait on top of wait on top of wait.
36:13
And so people, you know, people with cancer or other illnesses, they deteriorate so badly that they're...
38:57
Uh, talk about the Canadian socialized system and, and kind of some of the effects that that produces and, and things like what you just went through, where you couldn't get care for who knows how long, and they're basically just gonna let you die.
31:51
Talk about this program.
31:53
Right, absolutely.
31:54
So the MAID program has been in existence for about 10 years.
31:57
It was legalized in 2016 in Canada, initially just Track 1, which, and I might botch the exact wording, so forgive me, but under Track 1, it was basically anybody who was terminally ill.
32:10
And then they expanded it a few years ago to include what they call track two, which is anybody whose death is reasonably foreseeable, which I think is pretty much like who is going to die, right? We can't escape that.
32:22
And they've broadened it out to such an extent that it just includes pretty much anybody who has some kind of suffering.
32:28
And there's specific terminology, but it's basically to the extent of they have some kind of illness where they're suffering.
36:05
And they're basically just going to let you die.
32:46
Wow

33:20
This actually happened to a friend of mine.
