What are some of the challenges that students face that are common across the state? And what are some that are maybe unique to Shelby County?

That's a great question.

You know, what we find, quite frankly, is that it's really socioeconomic factors that determine a student's destiny in many ways.

The lower the income, the less likely you are to enroll and complete.

It also is a big driver in your academic preparedness.

And so what's happening external to the school is often very directly affecting your across the state, not specific to Memphis, those students enrolling, those students believing in themselves.
