Do you mind introducing yourself to the audience and just telling us about yourself, please?

Kori StroblGUEST
So I'm Cori Strobel, as you mentioned, and I'm a coach and facilitator that supports people overcoming people-pleasing.

Kori StroblGUEST
And I've been in this world for a long time as a yoga teacher who specialized in yoga philosophy.

Kori StroblGUEST
And as somebody who's been a people pleaser my whole life, and also I have a master's in spiritual psychology.

Kori StroblGUEST
So all things with the heart, mind, and soul have been of interest to me for a very, very long time.

Kori StroblGUEST
But really, my journey with focusing on overcoming people pleasing has been a part of my own personal journey in healing from it.

Can you tell us about how you identified the behaviors that you were a people pleaser? Was there a big moment where that became that realization for you or did you learn that over time?

Kori StroblGUEST
Well, it's interesting because I don't just work with couples because the truth is, is that a lot of the issues that anyone has is because of their relationship to something, right? So it's a relationship to another person, a relationship to a job, a relationship to themselves or a belief or an emotion, right? So relationship wise, it's not isolated to a couple it's really like how am I relating and then how is that impacting me how am I impacting the situation and really looking for the you know that piece of like what do I have control over and and acting from an empowered place in terms of that versus what don't I have control over because a lot of people the problem is is that they're so busy trying to control the things that they can't control that they are not controlling the things that they should be controlling It's almost like they're looking for, if I can control this outside stuff, that the inside stuff will be taken care of.

Kori StroblGUEST
Meanwhile, inwardly, the things that they really could be putting their attention on, like their nervous system, like their perception, like their beliefs, are going unchecked.

Kori StroblGUEST
And so a big part of the work I do as a relationship coach is how are you relating? How are you relating to life yourself and everything around you? And so that obviously feeds really well into relationship work with couples.

Kori StroblGUEST
Um, but it also works beautifully when I'm just talking to individuals, but you know, in relationship coaching, what I'm really clear of, and this, this doesn't happen in the, in this, uh, couples field a lot.

Andrew PhippsHOST
How do you sort of get people? Because that's that's really deep rooted that we we want to feel that we're not the person that's in the wrong.
