What were your first thoughts about this?

Yeah, you know, so this case was really interesting when it came on my desk.

First, it came in a giant box.

Um, and a lot of times we end up with boxes in cases, but we don't necessarily start with them.

Um, so first and foremost, I was really impressed just with the depth of work that the Simpsonville Police Department had done on this case.

Once I started going through it, it was really interesting to see the personal dynamics take shape, um, to see who Katie was with her older husband John, now estranged husband, or then-estranged husband.

And then it was really interesting to me to see how many teenagers were gonna be involved in this case as key witnesses.

How are you looking at her? As a victim? As someone who can help you in this case? What, how did, how did you approach that?
