album, which is actually kind of like a remix, a redo of when the album came out originally.

Yeah, it's the album we wanted to make.

And we were happy with it at the time.

But then it was scheduled to be for Capitol Records.

It was going to be our third album on Capitol Records.

We were happy with it because it had some pop songs, but also had some weird stuff on it.

And it was just kind of a cool record.

version better i do you know um sonically sonically i like it i mean the songs it's just it's different the other one was okay i mean because i didn't know the difference but when you do side by side you know it's the new one is yeah i mean light years ahead

Mm-hmm.

[laughs] But, but also I think for, for a song like Pepper, I mean, like, it, the whole trip hop scene was, was, was big in the, in the, in, in the mid-'90s, and I know I was a fan of it, Gibby was a fan, and, and, uh, I, I had sort of just made a, a trip hop album the, the year before in this band called Drain.

So like, you know, I had all these stacks of sample CDs and whatnot.

Like, I, I, I really, I, I really found Pepper fun to work on for it was kinda like what I was listening to at home as far as, like, the beat and the groove and stuff.

So, you know, just to have, like, uh, Paul playing his guitar and, like, you know, and Gibby, like, you know, with his brilliant vocals, I mean, it was...

I, I love that song.

It was really fun to make.

But it, it got us out of Capitol and, and we were free to do whatever we wanted, but by then we were kind of scattered to the wind anyway.

You really had fans inside the upper echelons of Capitol that b- that knew you and believed in what you guys were doing.

There was also some math to it as well.

I mean, like, in, in '92, I think, when we got signed, we were the highest grossing independent rock band in the US.

I mean, we, w- we, as far as, like, uh, our tours were going, and we definitely had a following.

So, like, on paper, it made sense for a record label to pick... like, a major label to, to pick us up.

But unfortunately, we were called the Butthole Surfers, and we are the Butthole Surfers, so it's kinda like the pros and cons.

It, it's, it's kinda why maybe it took a, a...

I know old, uh, uh, Dumpy Boy just released some, some UFO files, although I don't, I, I haven't heard anything shocking or exciting about it, so.
