We know that exertion in heat stroke is time-dependent, so it would not surprise me if hyperthermia due to that sympathetic surge, vasoconstriction, and muscle breakdown that impairs heat dissipation is also time-dependent.

So it's important to get benzodiazepines on board early in addition to those cooling measures.
