Oh my goodness.

And, and being told that all four limbs had to be amputated.

And I said to the doctor, "Yeah, that's fine.

How soon can you do it?" Because I couldn't even lift them off the bed.

It was like somebody had superglued them down.

They were so, so heavy I couldn't lift them, and obviously my muscles had stopped working as well and everything because they had been just laid there for nine weeks, I guess.

And then it was just a matter of them being shipped to another hospital for the amputations because my hospital doesn't do amputations, and I spent three months there before going for rehab in London, um, at the, uh, Queen Mary Hospital in Roehampton, and I had to literally learn how to walk on my bottom Yeah, it was, it was quite a traumatic time when I came out of hospital as well because, you know, you're used to having nurses kinda just do everything for you.

Yeah.

So I've been taking very just short, like, respite fosters.

Someone's gone for the weekend or something like that.

So I just have the two.

I came to Three Little Piddies in January of 22 and fostered two puppies.

And that was back when you were at the other place.

Yeah.

you have any dogs and they take a sniff and they're like okay seen enough

So when you say rejection, does it just mean like on paper it's a rejection? It wouldn't even go into an operating theatre? It wouldn't even get that far? Or do you mean that they would put it on you and there's a potential for an infection, which is why they wouldn't risk it?

No.

With a rejection, it's more the body rejecting the limb.

So you're on medication for life to stop the limb rejecting.

Or organ, it doesn't matter whether it's anything that's from a donor, be it a skin graft even, I think, you know, eyes... internal organs and hands, obviously, any type of transplant has to have anti-rejection medication.

So if I stopped taking my anti-rejection medication, my hand would literally reject I know of another hand transplant patient that had a rejection earlier this year, and she actually sent me a picture of what a rejection looks like, her hand.

And she had, on the hand transplant part, she had lots of what looked like little red pimples, really.

And
