So, and that phase being, correct me if I'm wrong, obviously, but you started your own marketing company at this point, is that right?

Kim LawtonGUEST
Well, I had one other piece in the meantime, which was I spent about four years working with a colleague of mine and who had a business as he did like conflict management negotiation training.

Kim LawtonGUEST
so right it was he and i we were partners in the business and um so it was really cool because it was a it was a very different experience for me marketing a service and a and versus a product a consumer packaged good product and uh and so that was really valuable too because i got this expertise on like how do you have your own business how do you run your own business how do you stay motivated how do you do it when it's not the nine to five structure of a normal job right and uh so that was really my first taste of being an entrepreneur and then in the meantime my parents moved from Calgary to Penticton and so I started visiting Penticton and like so many people I just completely fell in love with it and uh and I thought gosh you know I'd really love to move to this area it just it instantly felt like home to me I felt connected and I just felt very peace and grounded in in the okanagan and so i i visited my parents a couple of summers i actually worked from penticton for two full summers and uh and i just started looking around and talking to people this is what i do and you know is there anyone that does this kind of thing and there really wasn't there wasn't anyone doing really marketing or marketing consulting at the time.

Kim LawtonGUEST
And so I looked at what the opportunities were, there weren't really any predictions very small.

Kim LawtonGUEST
So we don't have a lot of big companies, you don't have companies that need a full time marketing director.

Mark KondratHOST
Um, aside from just the fact that Penticton felt like home, like even before that you, you, you left to do the project with, uh, with your friend was, did you feel that that was courageous, crazy? What was the, what was the feeling behind that? Or was it that you just always wanted to be an entrepreneur and this was your opportunity?
