Sean MaloneyCORRESPONDENT
So for you, why is kind of that survivorship care an important part of a patient's cancer journey?
K
17:04Kim DidisGUEST
Yeah, survivorship care is important as part of a cancer journey because it encompasses more than just the cancer cells.
K
17:13Kim DidisGUEST
And There's an opportunity for individuals with cancer to participate even more in their care and how their follow-up, how that will look going into the future.
K
17:27Kim DidisGUEST
And one thing I want to make clear about survivorship care, and that is that survivorship is not just surveillance.
K
17:36Kim DidisGUEST
So survivorship is both looking to see if that cancer comes back, but it's also dealing with late and long-term side effects from your initial cancer therapy.
K
17:49Kim DidisGUEST
It's dealing with the physical impacts, the psychosocial impacts, and it's dealing with making lifestyle changes if that individual is interested in doing that, just like we started out talking about.

Sean MaloneyCORRESPONDENT
I mean, what are some of those kind of big mental health challenges that survivors run into? And what would you offer as maybe pieces of advice to maybe kind of help deal with that or overcome it?
K
18:21Kim DidisGUEST
In terms of mental health challenges, one of the major challenges is this fear of recurrence, which is wrapped up in anxiety and depression as well.
