So I think
12:20
first and foremost, we honor the day internally by creating opportunities for staff to continue their learning, deepen their understanding and awareness about the importance of truth and reconciliation and what that actually means in a municipal context.
12:38
We also support community led events.
12:43
So on September 29th, in partnership with the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre, we're hosting a flag raising and community gathering at Hillcrest Park from six to eight, where we will really honour the survivors and those who did not make it home.
13:01
On September 30th, we are supporting Delico's Honouring Our Children run at Boulevard Lake, as well as Nan's Walk from the Nan office, so Anishinaabe Ascii Nation office on Syndicate to Vickers Park, with a stop at the memorial site of the St. Joseph's Residential School.
13:23
And so those are just some of the ways that we try to support community-led events.
13:30
For us, our role is sometimes to lead, but it's often to listen, support and amplify and make space for Indigenous organizations and communities that are already doing that work.
15:27
Okay, can you share some examples of how the city is working towards truth and reconciliation all throughout the year, not just on September 30th?
