What was it like being in the room with those giants? And how did they shape who you became as a dancer and a leader?

I first met Jimmy when I auditioned for College Conservatory of Music, the dance program there.

Mr. Truitt was this tall, imposing figure with this silver mane of hair that just framed like a halo his face.

And he was dressed all in black, very formal, and had these hands full of rings, these gorgeous hands that he was very expressive with.

And I was just like, it was so imposing.

You know, I was just scared out of my wits.

What was it like stepping outside the world that you built this community that you built for so long?
