Yeah.
1:25
I don't know if it's every album.
1:26
No, why not? It's CoverGirl on yours.
1:29
It's CoverGirl on ours.
1:31
That might be the best song.
1:33
We just got the music video back for it.
1:35
And after watching the music video, I was like, this might be the sickest song on the album.
4:14
But I feel like the people I know are like, really gung-ho on doing like a start to finish listen to an album.

Do you think that's what made it a bit more unusual or do like a lot of your songs come together out of that environment?
3:28
um i think the more we've gotten to know each other as a band that's become more of an instinct it's like jamming when we're on tour like before during a sound check like in between you know in our like moments where we can find time to just do that um that's kind of been a newer development because up to now it's been more of just like all right songs for the band bring them to the band we'll figure them out and that's that but Yeah, this one, as well as some others on this album, were definitely born out of more of a collaborative spirit, you could say.

know, just a lot of personal lessons in terms of just interpersonal relationships that have been really important to me.
9:52
Yeah, I think that's the most important thing at the end of the day is learning how to keep things copacetic and the effort that it requires to do that with your band members.
10:03
You can't just bottle everything up and just ignore things you know like if something's bothering you if you're feeling a type of way like it's best to just get it out there in the open you know and hash it out I think we've gotten pretty good at that just like it's because essentially it's like going on family vacation every time you're out on the road we both have siblings so we're used to arguing with our siblings you know people get on your nerves no matter how close you are And oftentimes, the closer you are, the more they get on your nerves.
10:32
And so navigating that is something that's like unavoidable.
10:36
So thankfully, everyone in our band is a total sweetheart.
10:39
So it's not too hard.
4:46
Is there the intention to go, let's build upon what we've already done? Or was it just that you're wanting to try new things and mess around with new sounds, and that's how it kind of organically happened?
4:58
I would say probably the latter.
5:01
Just like with every new thing, the plan is just go a little harder or just dig a little deeper, I guess.
5:09
And I think with these songs, They just felt like the groundwork we laid for them provided a space to have a little more fun with the production and try some new things.
5:22
And also just working with Ben Lumsday, our producer, we've done every release with him.
5:27
So each time it feels like this level up where we're leveling up together in the studio.
5:33
Every time we do it, it's like we're learning how to make an album.
10:22
twee in a way almost like a tiny hint of maybe like a sprinkle of mid bell and sebastian's in that 2000s era in that song and also the i think there was a i say a little prayer reference hidden somewhere in there which i kind of loved wondering whether one of you might be able to share the inspiration behind that track or kind of where it came from and how it was born
19:19
Okay, no, I got it.
19:22
okay I'd say one album that really flipped my world upside down when I first heard it was Dots and Loops by Stereolab Just the production and the tightness of everything.
19:39
And the sort of French poppiness to a lot of the songs.
19:44
And the weird time signatures.
19:46
Just scratching the itch for me.
19:47
That was just like, ugh.
19:48
Like, yes.
21:10
can totally have an honorable mention if you want to put both in there, I'll say that.
