Yeah,
3:42
so we recently changed the name from the Arkansas Audubon Society to the Arkansas Bird Alliance.
3:47
But to help understand why we did that, we'll kind of back it up.
3:51
The Arkansas Audubon Society was founded in 1955 as a volunteer-run statewide 501c3 nonprofit organization.
4:01
you know that evolved maybe over the years but the mission of that society is to inspire arkansans to care about birds their habitats the threats they face and their connections to us so you know doing all of that we have about 200 to 300 kind of varies from year to year uh members throughout the state and so we had this kind of small membership where statewide uh A couple years ago, we created an ad hoc committee tasked with coming up ways to increase our membership with kind of a five-year goal of aiming for getting up to about 500 members.
4:32
So what are some ways we need to do that? And one of their major suggestions was changing the name, which is kind of a big step.
4:39
But it's to help avoid confusion with all of the other groups that have Audubon in the name.
