2:06
When you look at the technical analysis on a name like Google Alphabet, what stands out? It's at 317 and has been on a downtrend.
2:15
Yeah, you're right.
2:16
It's been kind of rough, especially the last two plus weeks here, right? It's dropped 11 and a half, 12%.
2:21
And year to date, we're up a whole one and a half percent.
2:25
So we're not terribly thrilled.
2:26
However, that 315 level that we're sitting at is a very important one.
2:31
We have tested it as support recently back in summer.
4:04
What caught your eye in the chart?
1:40
On the technicals, what stands out to you?
1:44
Well, a couple of things.
1:45
The first of which is the fact that we've got a developing golden cross here, the 50-day moving average crossing upward through the 200.
1:55
That occurred back in early September in the midst of a consolidation.
2:00
That's the first rectangle we're looking at here.
2:03
Of course, that was following the break of the downtrend and once more trying to build an estimation of where this current rally might move.
2:11
It's been a great move in software off of the lows of late, and so that may allow traders to target that 166 ledge up above.
3:11
Some of your thoughts.
1:19
And what stands out in the technicals when it comes to Visa, please?
1:22
Well, Visa made a wonderful move in the last six sessions or so off of an area that had been previously resistance became support.
1:31
Calling that the 358 ledge.
1:32
You can see a volume node right there at that level as well.
1:36
And most importantly today, we're trying to make a new short-term high, pushing through that 373.
1:42
It's great to be above the 50-day.
1:44
It's even better to get a third day where we are extending the rally today.
2:43
What caught your eye on GE Vernova?
0:21
What are you watching when it comes to the levels of the S&P 500 right now, Kevin?
0:25
Well, you know, Nicole, usually I come to this session and we have a chat about 50-day moving averages and 200-day moving averages and the like.
0:33
And I just figured now might be an opportunity to drill in a little more shorter term in nature.
0:38
And that's what I've got here, a 90-day four-hour campaign.
0:41
candlestick chart, highlighting the most important areas in the short run here.
0:45
I think bulls were really pleased with the broken downtrend line we got this week, or late last week, I should say.
0:52
And we've held that breakout over 76.25, but we've not gone anywhere.
3:53
What on the chart stands out?
0:18
Levels, you are watching, Kevin.
0:21
A lot of the same stuff, Nicole, a lot of the same stuff.
0:23
I mean, that 50-day moving average on the S&P continues to be a trend-following level that a lot of bullish traders are eyeballing.
0:31
When we've been below it, it's been opportunistic for bulls to deploy money at that point.
0:37
We've actually held the 50-day.
0:39
In fact, today's intraday low didn't get down to the 50-day, but it did hold it nonetheless looks like bulls stepped in as we've seen kind of oil kind of pulling back a little bit um the you know the truth of the matter is we've just gone sideways for the better part of the last two months in here and what i've called out on the spx chart is just that declining rsi below us kind of validating that consolidation action we've seen it's not a momentum move at the moment we're still in this consolidation and rectangle type price action so i think in the interim and short run here, traders are probably just sitting on their hands waiting for something to change outside of that range.
1:18
When that hits, expect change.
3:04
Why is this one on your radar? What stands out in the technicals, Kevin?
1:24
okay we'll have to wait and see we think about identification data zebra technologies which is up over 50 percent this year so what stands out in the technicals to you
1:36
well i'm glad you bring that up uh 50 move this year great but really the the two-year chart we're going to look at is the reminder of our many opportunities to participate in new uptrends they occur initially with a break of a downtrend line that's that final oval at the bottom here working around the 50-day moving average.
1:54
When it crossed the 200 to the upside, there was a little bit of a heads up.
1:57
We consolidated quickly, and then we had an earnings announcement that led to a fantastic 100-point move to the upside.
2:04
Now, we've basically digested that 100-point move.
2:08
It took a while.
2:09
We built a pretty lengthy, visually bull flag scenario here, and this week are breaking that to the upside.
2:41
Our last guest was a long commodities and some of those energy names Conoco Phillips goes into that category of an energy winner in fact it hit an all time high recently but it's since pulled back some some of your thoughts and what catches your eye on this chart.
1:21
Why?
1:22
So Nicole, I brought two semiconductor stocks today because we witnessed the semiconductor index really break to the upside, clearing the 50-day moving average with some conviction finally.
1:33
We've been mired beneath it for a while.
1:35
And so what I've noted here with KLAC is that one of those positions that's pulled back to its long-range 200-day moving average.
1:43
And so we've settled in to an area of support called out by my rectangle there.
1:47
Notice how the last few lows have been increasing at the rsi level so we've had higher lows in the rsi even though price has dabbled a little bit lower for us so we have an area where we could say even in an intermediate term basis the trader could have a good risk versus reward sticking with the trade as long as it holds the lows of the last week here coming in around 165 166 but If we can get through the 50-day, which resides right above us, 192, 215 becomes a nice spot for a potential target.
2:22
That would be getting back about 38% of the recent sell-off that we've seen in this one from its peak, which was happening just at the end of June, and the thing sold down pretty well.
3:01
What stands out?
1:50
What stands out on this chart?
1:52
Well, I've been watching these volume weighted average price levels here.
1:57
I've got a couple of them working on this chart.
2:00
We're looking at the volume weighted average price from the beginning of the year.
2:04
So the year to date volume weighted average price.
2:08
VWAP from the lows of the chart here in the last 12 months, as well as the one off of the peak.
2:15
And what it's showing us is some interesting structure here.
3:36
all right last but not least let's take a look at deer which actually hit all-time highs earlier this month now what what catches your eye
speaker_0HOST
0:16
What should we notice there?
0:18
Yeah, it's not been a good move, obviously.
0:20
I mean, rates pressuring the entire space.
0:23
What we're going to see on the 90-day chart at least is the possibility maybe that we're hanging out of the zone of short-term support.
0:31
I've got the linear regression channel drawn in for the last 90 days covering a one-hour bar.
0:36
And that might be the short-term implication on this chart.
0:40
Notice down below we've had some RSI moving in oversold conditions, but those levels stand out to me.
speaker_0HOST
1:52
What should we notice there? I do.
1:43
What stands out in this chart now?
1:50
Yeah, you're right.
1:51
It's had a great year, although the last two months, not nearly as fun for traders, especially if you were a buyer at the 140 zone that we rallied into.
2:00
What we've seen recently has been the repair of this chart.
2:05
Now, the thing that stands out to me today, two things notable.
2:09
The 50-day moving average, we've recaptured it.
2:11
We've held it for two days.
3:32
What do you see when you see service now?
9:01
Are you ready for
9:01
this one? Strap in.
9:02
That's it.
9:03
Yeah.
9:03
So just a bit of an OVR function has over 130 procurement professionals working across all different areas of the business.
9:11
Within my team, there's 30 procurement professionals and we are covering bulk and central materials that support our projects and facilities.
9:20
That can be from reinforcement to concrete to even timber products and stuff like that.
11:55
Can you just talk about the benefits of that approach and why that approach is the one that you guys take?
0:12
So what are you watching when it comes to the levels on this index?
0:16
Yeah, it's been actually a great week, Nicole, if we think about it from the standpoint of what today this week's low price action validates for us, it validated an area of horizontal support coincident with the prior highs we had been working to a breakthrough at 7620 early in June.
0:32
Once we got through those, we made that push into 7800 and then we come back for what many traders suggest is the standard throwback to the area of former resistance, now potential support.
0:43
And so the action we got on Tuesday that really, or excuse me, Wednesday that really validated that test was carried forward yesterday.
0:51
And then I think you just get a little bit of a breather to close the week ahead of the long weekend, obviously.
0:56
So I think a trader is going to be monitoring this support range between the 50-day moving average at 75.90 and those prior highs at 76.20. It's about a 30-point range.
1:08
Certainly, we could find some support in there if we drop to that level once more.
1:32
So what stands out in the technicals here on AMD?
2:11
What stands out on the Uber chart, which is up 2% today?
2:15
I think what stands out on the chart for Uber, Nicole, is going to be the bottoming pattern that may have started to turn a corner here.
2:23
I've drawn in some fairly standardized horizontal resistance, horizontal support levels.
2:28
It's an interesting structure, if nothing else, because the numbers at least support a very basic viewpoint here.
2:36
$70 short run support outside of a couple of aggressive moves to the downside that were quickly reversed.
2:44
$80 resistance, $75 in the mid-range, our 50-day moving average beneath us at $74.
2:50
But really, we've held $75 quite nicely for the better part of the last four weeks or so.
4:07
What caught your eye in this stock chart?
0:27
What should we notice there?
0:29
Yeah, you're right.
0:30
Good morning, Diane.
0:30
It's been a rough go for Oracle.
0:32
This 90-day chart alone reflects a drawdown from its peak to its trough of more than 50%.
0:39
So it's had a very rough go.
0:42
It's been a lot of fits and starts, as we'll see on my next chart.
2:05
What should we notice there?
7:07
What are you seeing in the technical setup?
7:09
Well, a really great move, though, since late June, early July.
7:13
So we've seen about a two-month rally where we rallied 25% up to that 1185 ledge.
7:19
We've pulled back from there.
7:20
Now, this looks like what in the intermediate or shorter-term window could be viewed as a zone of support.
7:27
And I've got a couple of levels to monitor.
7:29
So we've got the 20-day right above us.

6 MINS LATER

13:11
so let's look at that 90-day chart then kevin if you have it just take a look at some of those tests where it's tried several times and failed here
0:14
What should we notice there?
0:16
Yeah, good morning, Diane.
0:17
You're absolutely right.
0:18
Looking at this 90-day chart, we're going to begin with incorporating four-hour bars.
0:22
What we're looking at is the range breakout here following this announcement on earnings, and you've seen the speedily rising 50-period moving average.
0:32
Of course, that's 50 periods, four hours each.
0:35
The interesting thing to me is that while we've pulled back here in the end of the month of August, you can see a very quick pull back below that trending 50 period moving average we did not make lower lows in fact we made slightly higher lows in the neighborhood of 155 to 160 so from a trend standpoint short-term traders probably felt like things were still in place and they probably feel similarly today nice bump opportunity from the upgrade from city i think watching the 177 maybe down to the 175 range for a potential horizontal support test makes some sense but notice that rsi down below momentum just kind of breathing a little bit here after a fantastic move for the record this thing uh might have made a move of about forty dollars up from 155 it well cleared that calculation so uh this has been a wonderful move but would not be at all surprising to see a little bit of a pause to the short-term trend here after a big move to the upside
1:44
What should we notice there, Kevin?
1:39
Why?
1:40
Well, this one again allows me to talk about something that commonly occurs.
1:43
Again, Nicole, we've got breakouts, throwbacks.
1:46
This scenario plays out frequently.
1:50
So you see Arista Networks broke out following the earnings in early August and it rallied all the way up into 210.
1:57
All we've done now is pull back to the area from which we broke out.
2:01
Now, the reason it's really catching my eye today more so than anything else is that the candle today validates the potential for closing above the highest price from yesterday.
3:35
What about Adobe?
0:27
... through a, a pretty glaring red candle and a g- complete trend breakdown we saw yesterday.
0:34
Jenny, good morning, and I have to agree with you.
0:36
Yes, a pretty clear breakdown.
0:38
Uh, not exactly what bullish Walmart traders are looking for.
0:41
We have seen a very healthy, uh, about three to four-month retreat here, about 23% off the peak achieved in mid May.
0:50
And we have just, uh, with yesterday's price actions, settled in to the lower boundary of the one-year linear regression channel.
0:56
So, uh, this is an area where, where bullish traders are hoping to find support.
2:34
But I mean, things still on a more long-term basis as a shareholder, you would not be upset with this, this overall trend.
0:21
What should we notice there?
0:23
Yeah, I sure do.
0:24
Good morning, Diane.
0:26
Yeah, no amount of shopping, unfortunately, seems to help out TJX this morning, at least.
0:30
You know, normally I'm going to show you something intra-period, maybe the last 90 days, last 180 days.
0:36
Unfortunately, what I learned was we've seen the low price we found yesterday with this sell-off was basically the lowest in about 200 trading sessions dating back to November of last year.
0:46
year so instead what i went with was the daily chart weekly look which is going to be fairly interesting the daily chart is highlighting this linear regression channel we're basically at the bottom of the channel meaning we are the furthest we've been from the midpoint the the line of best fit up there around 161 that we have been over this last 12 month window so This could be an area of short run support.
2:10
What should we notice there?
2:08
What stands out to you here on the technicals?
2:11
Well, first of all, I, I just wanna remind viewers and traders alike, you know, we tend to get married to the groups or even the individual stocks where we're just most comfortable.
2:20
You know, if you've been on a good run 8 to 10, 12 weeks in a given stock and you've profited a number of times, it's really hard to move away from 'em.
2:28
But it's very important to look at those other areas that are offering you insights and opportunities and, you know, Staples is one of them.
2:35
We're looking at Smuckers today.
2:36
It's been in a fantastic uptrend.
2:38
It's up about 35% from the lows, 25% on a year-to-date basis, and essentially using the 50-day moving average as solid support dating back to early May.
4:18
Some of your thoughts when you look at the chart.
0:22
We're down about 18.5% this year.
0:25
Yeah, you're right.
0:25
Good morning, Jenny.
0:26
What we're seeing here is a pretty obvious rough downtrend, both in the short term and in an extended window of time, which we'll see momentarily.
0:34
But the level we're holding here today, that 1750, kind of coincident with that downgrade level that we're talking about from Azuho at 17, illustrates the importance of this 1750 level.
0:47
You can see a pretty significant gap in this very short run over the last 90 days here.
0:53
That would put us in peril under 1750 calling out the $15 ledge below.
1:37
And so when you look at, say, a longer-term chart, as you mentioned, and does this weakness look like perhaps, I mean, like we could see any areas of opportunity? Obviously, the same is capable of making big swings, but does the longer-term picture give any further indication here?
0:15
What stands out to you now as you look at the chart?
0:19
Well, we clearly have that 7800 level right overhead here.
0:24
We've not been capable of pushing through it over the last three, four sessions.
0:29
And today we're pulling back a little bit.
0:31
I didn't draw it in, but interestingly enough, the 10-day moving average resides right beneath us at 7750.
0:37
For those short-term traders who maybe were pressured enough to buy up the bottom that we had about three weeks ago, four weeks ago, those traders might look at the 10-day.
0:48
Choosing to sell a little on a close below the 10 day, it could mean a bit of a pullback to the breakout spot around 7620, maybe the 7600 level coincident with the 20 day moving average.
3:16
Tell us more.
0:59
It's frankly, its resiliency is astounding.
1:02
Yeah, it's hard to argue with that, Jenny.
1:04
The chart here that we're going to look at to get started is a 90-day 4-hour.
1:09
And what you're going to find is a fantastic move dating back to mid-April.
1:13
We're seeing about 130% move from those mid-April lows, actually.
1:19
85% year-to-date, as you suggested.
1:21
And really, that call-out that I have here on the chart, a couple of main areas to monitor.
2:33
Okay, and so then when you look at a different time frame, which as we tend to do, does any of the recent trend in more of the near-term price activity sort of change if you zoom out and look at, say, more of a long-term or more mid-term picture?
1:55
So when you look at the technicals, tell us the story in what you're watching.
1:59
Couple of fun charts here on Oscar.
2:01
I've got a daily and I've got a weekly.
2:03
We're gonna start with the daily.
2:04
The thing that's intriguing on the daily, of course, is we're breaking out of a, a bit of a bull flag.
2:09
It's a little lengthy.
2:10
Now, above us, what we have is, uh, targets if we can validate new highs here.
4:12
What is interesting to you about the Chevron stock?
0:26
And so what have you seen from a ta- technical standpoint that sticks out to you? Because we have been in a pretty considerable, at least improving trend as of late.
0:34
Yeah, you're absolutely right.
0:36
I think that that's well-defined on the daily chart, but we're gonna start on a shorter-term look.
0:42
We're basically looking back at the last six months, and what I find interesting about this, uh, intraperiod chart, I'm using four-hour candles, is that if we, as usual, if we just drill into a shorter-term window and use price action, what we can find are opportunities.
0:59
The one I'm speaking about most notably is the move through 84 that occurred in mid-June, when we rallied up to that $97 ledge and, and held, but pulled back.
1:09
And so what we did was consolidate, a nice 13-point range for about six weeks.
1:14
And then the big slingshot move, of course, is tied to the earnings from the 4th, and that built a massive flagpole for us, from 84 up to about 118, 119.
2:40
Walk me through your thoughts on then more of a long-term or maybe even mid-term type of view of looking at Wayfair.
