16:20
Tell me what's happening out on the water here as we transition to a good time for fishing, typically.
16:25
We are.
16:27
We've had a decent week of weather and Yes, talking to the guys and fishing.
16:38
Inshore stuff is just really good.
16:41
And the reason that that is, we talked a lot about this last night, is because we're finally getting to some low tides.
16:50
In September and October, really September, we get flood tides.
16:56
And when we get flood tides, it brings in a different fishery.
20:46
It was after he
16:10
We
16:10
needed a change.
16:13
We're going into our fall fishery.
16:16
You know, we're...
16:17
We're totally, as a matter of fact, fish Tuesday and Wednesday have a great day offshore on Tuesday.
16:22
The ocean was pretty yesterday.
16:25
The ocean, obviously, was very ugly.
16:39
they just so thick you could almost catch them by hand a couple weeks ago?
16:22
Yeah.
16:22
And I'm talking, I've had from surf fishing to whatever, but you have to fish different this time of year.
16:31
By the way, the weather's been amazing.
16:33
The tides have been amazing.
16:34
We've had flood tides.
16:37
You've got mullet coming in and out of the inlets with tarpon and sharks.
16:41
By the way, the sharks are all in the surf.

17:48
it.

20:53
Yes.
20:53
I mean, a great example, because when we had Larry Menard on, I don't know, six weeks ago.
21:01
It's been longer than that.
21:02
But anyway, I was talking to him about there was a particular spot in the intercoastal that he and I called the tires because there was old tires there.
21:11
And if you didn't know it, you wouldn't know they were there because it's got to be an extra low tide.
21:16
We never knew exactly what was there, but you could see the tires.
21:19
And I asked you the other day, I said, when's the last time you caught fish there? And by the way, Ross, you would catch 50 redfish on this spot.
22:55
Still in it? Ballot
18:58
There was times where you were born and raised, you never left your zip code.
19:02
Yeah, hey, listen, you know, just real quick, my place in middle Georgia, whenever I bought that place in 2006 and, you know, wanted to get to my neighbors.
19:16
So we did a fish fry.
19:20
90% of them had never eaten saltwater fish.
19:23
Believable.
19:26
Yeah.
19:27
That's only four hours away.

20:24
and it has
15:47
I, I've heard of Bimini, but I don't know
15:49
... and, and, and I was, I was, I was fishing with Mike Scanlon and Steve Horn.
15:52
Steve Horn, uh, was, his whole life was in the Coast Guard.
15:56
Anyway, we're fishing, we're catching dolphin, we're having a great day, and all of a sudden we hear something go twink, twink, bam, bam, bam, bam.
16:06
And Steve looked at me and he goes, "Dude, that's a .50 caliber." I'm like, "What?" And he goes, "That's a .50 caliber." And we looked coming out of, out of Bimini, there was, um, a very, very expensive boat, fast boat coming out, and behind them were, like, three little Bahamian boats behind them with .50 calibers on the front of them, and they were coming at us.
20:42
Yeah.
20:42
I mean, don't get me wrong, I mean, it, it, 10:00 it's brutal.
20:45
Uh, but, but yesterday, um, around 11:00, that, that, that southeast sea breeze picked up, and it was, it was actually v- very nice.
18:18
I used to like catfishing, but I don't even want to catch a catfish anymore.
18:22
Yeah, I mean, but, you know, it's interesting.
18:26
Since we've had, you know, Captain Rob Robbins, part of the forecast show now, And, you know, he fishes that buck reddened to Green Coast Springs.
18:36
Okay.
18:37
My area.
18:39
Yeah.
18:41
And I'll tell you, he does a lot of charters where people want to catch catfish.
21:55
Like, I feel like,
18:47
How are we doing? Is it hot on the water? Has it been inland?
18:52
Um...
18:54
It's off and on.
18:56
Again, you and I have done this for years, okay? And you do know that, you know, whenever you have the same wind direction, day after day after day after day after day, you know, we have a thermocline.
19:12
We have an upwelling.
19:13
And it's totally affecting our fishing.
19:17
You know, the fishing is on one day.
21:00
I'm never going to not play, but, man, it does seem like it's been hotter than even normal.
17:29
He stepped in a bucket or something? Is that what
17:32
happened? Well, he was reeling in his bait, and his bait was behind the boat, which happens at drifts, right? So I'm watching it, and as it gets really close to the boat, a fish eats it.
17:47
So it's pulling him, and the rod's bending, and he goes...
17:52
He's trying to come to the back of the boat and steps in the five-gallon bucket and almost takes me out.
17:59
Oh, dear.
18:00
And then we're out.
18:03
First off, we didn't both go overboard, but we were both laughing so damn hard.
18:19
Well, how are we looking for the weekend, Captain?
37:05
Hey, Kev.
37:07
Hey, buddy.
37:07
What's it like? You know, first off, the Northeast wind yesterday.
37:13
kind of crazy you know i mean it's uh yeah very very strange for for july now you know um so nobody was able to get offshore yesterday except for the ringleader obviously you know 56 foot they can handle that but here's the crazy thing um monday tuesday even even um you know um Like I said, the ringleader went out yesterday.
37:40
Monday and Tuesday, Jeff, we talked about how good the fishing was last Friday.
37:46
I said it's as good as it gets.
37:48
On Monday and Tuesday, on a four-hour charter, the captains were catching 30 to 50 kingfish.
38:10
It's good news for the Kings tournament.
15:05
It's oven time,
15:06
too.
15:07
And, you know, we're oven and beach fishing.
15:10
And, I mean, we've just had, I mean, wind after wind after wind.
15:18
And it feels great.
15:19
I mean, you know, if I'm mowing my lawn, I'm like, wow, this is fantastic.
15:23
But as a charter captain, to not be able to go offshore very much is, you know, since the beginning of April is tough.
15:41
through.
16:56
risk
16:57
my license.
16:58
I hear you.
17:00
So that's where we are.
17:03
There's no change in the laws.
17:06
The injunction's still on.
17:10
We still can't go offshore and catch snapper.
18:24
Alright, so we'll have more on that for you next week, but that's
