Um, but that was pretty cool.

Um, one of my, kind of my favorite stories is by the time I was in vet school, I was still coming back and working on that ranch.

Occasionally, we would move the cattle, uh, on the main roads, and the tourists would have to pull aside, and they would stop, and they would be taking pictures like crazy, which is understandable.

You have this huge herd of Hereford cattle going down the main road, and you have about six or eight paniolos, or Hawaiian cowboys, in the back.

So they would gently talk to me, um, kind of s- talking slowly because they thought I was, uh, local, and I would speak in this kind of, uh, this brogue, this dialect of pidgin, which I did deliberately to talk to them.

Um, and then, uh, they would leave thinking they'd had this local experience where they had talked to a native person, whereas they had no idea that I was probably f- far more educated than they were.
