I'd love for you to provide some color around the timeline for research when you talk to people who are supporting research endeavors sometimes it's thought to be a sprint and we give money the money goes to the lab and within like a year or two there's there should be a product that does something for someone but that's not really true can we talk about the marathon journey of research and how long it really takes from the time you start in the lab till something really comes to fruition?

Yeah, because we're kind of working in an area, and if you're talking about medicine or medical problems, often it starts off with the physicians know there's a symptoms of a disease and what it does in the organ system.

And they know that you're going blind.
14:48
They know that maybe the photoreceptors are being affected or your retinal vasculature is a problem.
14:54
They might know things like that.
14:55
But the underlying causes that are causing that aren't known at first.

And the first thing is to spend some years figuring that out.

10 MINS LATER

And that's kind of the first step before it gets to a paper or manuscript that gets published in much greater detail.
