How important is it to s- have those farms be productive, but also to be as good stewards as you can with the environment?
4:01
Anything we can do to im- improve the efficiency, um, will be better for the environment and for, um, the farm economics.
4:09
So it's certainly something we've focused on in our research to, to figure out how, one, to track it, which is tricky in itself, um, and then think about ways to be more efficient in the way, uh, we apply nitrogen.
5:16
It's just so important to our world, and are you optimistic that we can make some fundamental scientific changes to help the growers continue to be productive with the obvious thought that they need to have yield quality and a good return at the end of the day?
5:32
I am optimistic.
5:33
I think that this is an interesting point in agriculture.
5:37
I think there's a lot of motivation from the farmers, from the researchers, um, and from p- private industry to be able to really push things forward and think about farming in a different way, integrating new technologies and also, um, leaning back on some old principles.
5:54
Not everything good has to be new.
