My name is Ken Yeager, and I've been fighting for LGBTQ rights in Silicon Valley for over 40 years and was the first openly gay elected official to any position in Santa Clara County.

So I can't believe we've come so far.

How lucky I would have been way back when to have come out earlier, come out to my parents.

The whole trajectory of my life would have been different.

And so I'm hoping that these kids that now have opportunities that really gay people before never would have had.
