And so that sets the tone for, like you said, this small but perhaps mighty group of Catholics in the 1776 story.

Right.

And you look at it because Mexico and the Mexican colonies were obviously Catholic.

And when the United States took those over, they absorbed a lot of Catholics.

The Canadians were primarily French.

They were also Catholic.

So you've got this sticky wick in the middle.

So we get to the Civil War and now the sort of American story that I think people have probably had a chance to glimpse in movies or maybe even stories of Irish Catholics particularly, but immigrants in general landing on the shores and then basically being conscripted to this great conflagration between the North and the South.
