How did you get hooked on sailing?
6:56
You know, for me, man, it's fascinating just to see movement and how movement can occur in a number of different ways.
7:04
As an offensive lineman, I get to move people.
7:07
And what's great about watching SailGP is watching the wind and watching the water really test the wills of athletes at a very, very high level.
7:15
I've had the opportunity to watch it in San Francisco.
7:17
I have tried to get to some of the international opportunities.
7:20
I've catched it for years online and been fortunate.
7:39
What makes the sport itself so cool to you?
9:44
Now I'm an investor who just happens to play football.
9:47
Yep.
9:48
So for me, the evolution isn't a one-time thing of it being something that occurred and it led me being from a curious angel investor to trying to build something that was institutionalized.
10:06
There was an evolution that took place.
10:09
Started at Conner Perkins.
10:11
From there, I went over to Kaiser Pimenta.
10:14
I spent a little time there.

20 MINS LATER

So I just wanted to point that out because that didn't occur to me before, but it seems obvious now that I say it.
13:41
How have you sort of used your NFL platform to highlight the military community?
13:46
But just being a nominee, it really does lend itself to the opportunity to really highlight things that you find to be important.
13:53
And I've been blessed, like I said at the onset, that I've had great family members, both immediate cousins and things of that nature, those that are in reserve right now, that continue to serve our country.
14:03
So as a nominee, you have the opportunity and the platform to really just highlight them, to use this platform to really shift the awareness to the people that, you know, may not, you know, get to hear about themselves too often.
14:16
And, you know, think about, you know, the pleasures that we have in this country right now, the fact that we're having, you know, communication digitally, and we're not worried about anything that's coming over our heads or planes or bombs or any of those things.
14:28
Like, you know, that's a great place to be knowing that people that we know well have served to ensure the freedoms that we have here in America today.
14:36
How would you say the NFL's relationship is with the military community and how did they sort of highlight a lot of these stories and connections like players like yourself have to the community?
14:46
You know, I think you have, you know, here in Arizona, you have, you know, people that actually played in the National Football League, played for the Arizona Cardinals and also served in the military.
