Um, uh, uh, I wanna start by saying, um, being in a union was obviously new to me, given what I had done before.

And the first or second day a- as a teacher, I remember the union rep coming down to my classroom and asking me to join, and I didn't even hesitate.

She didn't have to really sell me.

I thought, I love the idea of joint advocacy, um, and having a seat at the table and being able to, um, play a role in advocating for myself and, and fellow teachers.

It obviously kind of fed into my lawyer mentality, if you will.

Um, so I joined the union the, the first time that I could, and I was-- So I'm certainly not anti-union.
