No, it's not slagging
10:03
off, but you know what I mean? It's so skilled.
10:05
It's too good for me, basically.
10:06
That's what I'm saying.
10:07
No, I think I understand absolutely the points that you're making on CrossFit.
10:11
Look, the constantly varied, the unknown and the unknowable nature of it makes for an incredible test.
10:21
If you want to go and find the fittest person on earth and you accept the CrossFit definition of fitness, which is broad work capacity across time, mode or domains, That unknown and unknowable is very important.

sounds like a grippy workout i love it
4:44
We're going to raise money for it versus some other structure from the get-go.
4:49
Yeah, look, I think that the consumer, I think if you're, obviously the listeners to your podcast are fitness people and they will see the difference.
4:59
I think to a lay person, they might look at this and say, oh, it's kind of the same consumer.
5:03
It's all fitness.
5:05
It's all competitive fitness.
5:07
It's very, very different.
5:08
The CrossFit consumer is a very, very different consumer to the High Rocks consumer.

We spent the first, um,
4:44
We're gonna raise money for it," versus some other structure from the get-go?
4:50
Yeah, look, I think that the consume...
4:52
I think if you're... obviously the listeners to your podcast are fitness people and, and they will see the difference.
4:59
I think to a, to a layperson they might look at this and say, "Oh, it's kinda the same consumer.
5:03
It's all fitness.
5:05
It's all competitive fitness." It's very, very different.
5:07
Like, the CrossFit consumer is a very, very different consumer to the HYROX consumer.

So how much of that is introducing ZNOM, what you're doing, how it's different, the decathlon of fitness, and how much is, like, look, an already built-in participation base who's looking for an outlet, and you just kinda have to reach them or get them i- into the, like, awareness that it exists?

4:09
I'd want to go to what, what are you guys like kind of stuff? Are you doing at the gyms?
4:14
Also, when we were launching Xenon, we always said there were three things it had to do.
4:19
It had to be good for individuals, good for affiliates, and good for the ecosystem.
4:23
And from an affiliate perspective, I think that there's so much value in what the gyms do.
4:30
The affiliates for us are the most important thing.
4:33
Every affiliate is 200 to 300 people that are engaged into the methodology, that are pursuing work capacity across broad time and modal domains.
4:42
and what we do is we come and we give purpose to that training like if you're training in a gym every day we give a purpose to that training via the competition that we do and so it means a lot to us then to be able to come into the gyms and give people this context and give people this understanding of what competition can mean for them so we come in um we obviously we talk about xenon but We come in and try and also talk about what competition is for, about why competition is important and why having this yearly check in with yourself where you come and you compete and you get this mark, this test of your fitness.

What is their intention? What is the plan of this now?
8:47
And then like across the weekend, how did that emotion develop and, and how did you finish up on, say, Monday morning?
8:53
Um, I mean, obviously nervous before the first one.
8:56
Like, it's, it, it's not nervous, I think, like anticipatory.
9:00
Like, we, we knew that we were gonna throw something really cool.
9:03
We knew we were gonna throw something that people really enjoyed, and that was done to a standard that would measure up against anything, anything else in the space.
9:12
Um, it was...
9:15
I, I personally, um, took a lot of satisfaction from it.
