then.And this week, Russian media also circulated false information about remarks Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan allegedly made about Kazakhstan, prompting a response from Kazakhstan's Center for Countering Disinformation under the president.

The fabricated quote claimed Pashinyan had questioned Russia's ability to force Armenia to hold a referendum on EU membership, saying, "I'm not the president of Kazakhstan for Russia to summon me, and we are not as rich as Kazakhs to hold four referendums in a year.

How can they force Armenia to hold a referendum?" The claim was based on a September 3 press briefing asked about reports that Russia was forcing Armenia to hold a referendum and that Pashinyan had been summoned to Moscow.

Pashinyan said the situation gave the impression that he was the first secretary of the Central Committee of Soviet Armenia being summoned to Russia.

He did not mention Kazakhstan or President Tokayev.

The false quote was posted by Russian journalist Sergei Aslanyan and reportedly spread across more than 300 accounts receiving thousands of likes.

Kazakhstan's Center for Countering Disinformation said this review found that the quote had been fabricated with words changed and phrases added that were absent from Pashinyan's original response.

It said the manipulation was intended to create negative sentiment and artificially fuel tensions between Kazakhstan and Armenia.

And it doesn't matter what Sabalenka does.
