It's the hindsight piece, isn't it, where you look back and go,

ah, yeah.

Ah, that's how we got here.

Well, so I had met a young woman.

I was giving a talk at a fundraiser for my center, and I met a young woman asking if there were care groups for younger people her age who were helping out with a parent or grandparent.

dementia and I sort of offhandedly said yeah I'm sure there are like nothing's coming to mind but I'll give me your email I'll get back to you um and I had a closer look and I found a lot of groups were kind of traditional age carers um who are typically you know not to stereotype but you know 70s 80s retired spouse and then there were groups for younger carers but it was the whole gamut right so everything from a parent with mental health issues to a sibling with you know, intellectual disability, you name it.

So we started a little support group, um, for younger people impacted by dementia.

This is so special too.
