Right? Why do you think chronic pain has been so hard for conventional medicine to treat well? And where do you see, then, the East-West framework really being especially helpful?
23:25
Chronic pain is challenging because in the conventional sense, we're always taught to look at the structural issues, right? And we're taught to look, is it a tendon issue, a bone issue, an arthritis issue? Is it a muscle or a nerve issue? But then there's also studies now showing that you can have the same MRI changes, but not everyone has pain.

And so that means there's other factors playing a role.
23:53
And if you look at pain, I think one of the biggest pathophysiology or root issues you see is inflammation.
24:02
And if you look at the... factors contribute to inflammation, it's so broad.
24:07
You can have inflammation when you don't sleep enough.

Dr. Michael Irwin at UCLA studied how interrupted or disrupted sleep increases systemic inflammation.

And I'm going to say, why? why aren't I talking about this with my kids, or why isn't this this approach to my children's health, right? Like, why aren't we moving, when we're saying upstream, we're not saying, like, age 30, right? So tell me, tell me what this means for you in terms of just, like, our children, right? And I mean, pediatric is the clinical name, but I'm just gonna say, like, no, you know, our kids.
