Continuing to talk about sensory processing, how does that affect routines like dressing, diaper changes, bath time?
7:09
I feel like these are always the parents' favorite routines, right? [laughs] Not.
7:13
So we think about some of the different sensory systems, so let's just start with touch.
7:17
So in early childhood, we aren't doing things on our own, and so somebody is doing them for us, so there's a lot of touch that can be unexpected or that can be out of our control.
7:30
And so, um, this can be hard for kids who maybe don't like that kind of light touch of getting their clothes taken on or off or having the diaper changes.
7:39
Bath time, that's a lot of sensory input from the water and the things around us.
7:44
So one strategy that I give for families is to tell the child what's gonna happen before it happens, kind of pre-teach.
