But, uh, so can you give a glimpse of what you hope that chapter to be like?
K
44:02Katie AsmuthGUEST
I mean, I'm 40, right? So it feels like there, I hope there's a lot more chapters.
K
44:07Katie AsmuthGUEST
And I think that I'm at this place in life where I, I, I, well, there will, well, hopefully if I keep living, then, um, I think that you realize that there's going to be challenges and almost it's like, okay, I'm here for the whole human experience here.
K
44:27Katie AsmuthGUEST
But if I'm still living, I have the opportunity to grow through them and to learn through those.
K
44:33Katie AsmuthGUEST

13:44Take, for instance, Katie Adsmith's walk-up song, Walking on a Dream, and how it captures both appreciation and hype.
K
13:53Katie AsmuthGUEST

K
13:59Katie AsmuthGUEST
So when you show up and you have your walk on song, it does feel like pinch me moments every time you toe a line.
K

Like that is, it's a lot of training and sacrifice and dedication and all these things.
K
14:17Katie AsmuthGUEST
And yeah, it's full of gratitude to be able to show up healthy enough to race.

I'm thinking about how maybe all, but I guess I'm gonna speak for professional runners, are being more deliberate about the races that they are signing up for.
K
29:17Katie AsmuthGUEST
When you look at your race calendar, it feels as if there's been a change this year, and one of the themes of this year, well, of course, when you think about Ruth Croft, for instance, won UTMB, and she was very deliberate about the training for UTMB, going all in on UTMB, and sure, she had a couple other races, but it was about, all about leading up to UTMB.
K
29:41Katie AsmuthGUEST
And that did sort of, these big performances trickle down in our sport, [lips smack] um, especially in the professional mindset about how much you have to be deliberate about the races that you sign up for and how much you're spreading yourself too thin across the whole year in your season.
