Now, Dr. Lennon, as both a healthcare professional and a woman of faith, have you ever found tension between scientific practice and spiritual belief? And how have those two worlds shaped one another in your own life?
15:10
Yeah, it has been a tricky thing sometimes because I don't think that the church historically has done a great job of teaching believers how to steward and care for their minds and to care for their bodies.
15:27
I think historically, the church has kind of dismissed very real mental health concerns specifically, as well as empowering Christians to understand how to regard their bodies as temples.
15:43
I think what is more common is that people, specifically believers, kind of think that we almost get this free pass to neglect our physical well-being because we believe that there is going to be redeemed bodies in heaven.
15:58
And so we'll be given these new spiritual bodies.
16:01
And therefore, what we do with our physical bodies here doesn't necessarily have an impact.
16:06
And I really do think that that is a damaging way of looking at how we are to care for ourselves and how we are to allow the Lord to rule over the area of our life with regards to health and wellbeing.

Looking at society more broadly, from your experience and your perspective, Do you think we are facing a crisis of spiritual health as much as physical health? Sorry, looking at society more broadly, do you think we are facing a crisis of spiritual health as much as physical or mental health? If so, what signs do you see?
4:13
I'm turning this into work or did it help you move from a struggle into healing and growth?
4:20
Oh, absolutely.
4:21
So a little bit more about me.
4:23
I know I shared that I come from the background being a military broad and growing up moving.
4:30
And so I just had always struggled with a feeling of insecurity from a young age.
4:36
I think it had to do with not having a solid group of friends or not really knowing where I was going to end up next or just what was in store for me.
4:47
So looking back, I can see that I carried a lot of insecurity growing up.

But what would you suggest as a small practice that would help a woman just reconnect with herself and her wellness in the three this week that's coming ahead for her? If we took herself, her faith, and her wellness, what would you say?
