Um, well, initially, um, I didn't study issues related to race and discrimination until I had an undergraduate student who was interested in this, and I said, "Well, sure, I'm, I'm happy to.

Um, in my first sabbatical here in management science, you of course can't get away from Bay Area, and at the time it was gig work, you know, everyone's studying gig workers.

Um, and would you do that and, and what sort of, you know, what processes enable that, especially when you're selecting from a bunch of people, what are your attributions about people's motives? Um, but I wasn't able to get data to study it.
5:47
Um, so I had reached out to a couple of companies asking to sort of if they would be willing to share data, and I got nowhere.
