Either in Kentucky or the other places you've lived, who was the first person or first people that made you feel welcome if they did? What did they say to you?
20:36
Oh, I remember what happened the first time when somebody's hospitality made a real difference for me.
20:46
And over the years, for like 25 years, I tried to write a good poem about it and I...
20:55
I couldn't write a good one, so I wrote a poem about it.
20:59
And if you would want me to read it, if you would allow me.
21:03
Certainly.
21:03
Okay.

Do you continue to celebrate holiday traditions here?
4:35
What does the stage look like for a poet?
4:39
Well, we keep on writing poems and then we accumulate a body of work and what do we do after that? We have a pile of poems.
4:53
We need to figure out, we need to take the time to figure out what are the themes and the topics inside these piles.
5:05
And that is one way that we can quickly see what we have been writing about.
5:11
Because it is very unlikely that we have been writing about just one thing.
5:17
So what I recommend for people to do is to actually print everything physically, to have physical paper.
5:25
I think it's very difficult to do this work without having it actually printed.
