Kate, having experienced melanoma, what was your initial reaction when you heard about the success of this personalized melanoma vaccine?

The, yeah, the melanoma...

Yeah, this vaccine is new to me, actually.

Um, and it looks like a positive stride forward, honestly.

Um, if I was to go through my timeline of treatment myself, like, I got melanoma first when I was 19, and it was in 2011.

And they had nothing to offer.

Well, they only had interferon, which is a drug for people with AIDS, actually.

As new medical treatments develop, Kate, how important do you believe the psychological support will remain for people living with melanoma and the fear of recurrence?

It's pretty much go, go, go.

It is, but I think, you know, as much as knowledge that you can pass on is great, I think one of the things when you say there's five debutants going to a Comm Games, you kind of, it, you don't really believe it because there's girls that have been around this squad for a long time, and they've got a lot of experience.

So they're not kind of coming in fresh.

Um, they've been around the program for a long time.

I think that's one of the great things, is we do have a lot of experience within this group, and then we do have our younger girls who are coming in and maybe a little bit more fresh, but where we can, got debutants, and you got the other side, like, pretty incredible to think that we've got I think it's three athletes going to their third Commonwealth Games as well, which is an incredible achievement.

That's nearly, you know, 12 years of netball at the top level, I think.

Um, if, if I'm doing the maths right.

How would you respond to that? And have you seen this rhetoric around?
