So as you walked into becoming a psychologist, in your mind, did you know which or who you were trying to, I mean, not only I know anything that we learn helps ourselves, but who you would serve, who you would want to work with? Was that obvious to you from the get-go?
16:08
Yeah, you know, particularly early on, I was definitely drawn to doing my training in pediatric medical facilities.
16:16
And I did a lot of work with, you know, kids and families who are facing some sort of a medical illness or physical disability challenge.
16:25
Did a couple years in a pediatric burn center.
16:27
So, you know, different issues, but the same idea of struggle, needing to create a new sense of normal, needing to see yourself beyond the disability or the illness or the thing that you happen to have.
16:43
So, you know, my own experiences definitely served as like, you know, a placeholder in my mind.
16:49
Obviously, I wasn't out there talking about it with the people that I was working with.

So more even of the road instead of up here, meaning above your head, like everything's going crazy.
10:24
And so let's talk about h- what resilience really means during this time.
10:31
Oh my goodness.
10:31
It's such a great question and such an important question.
10:34
And this is where, you know, this sort of fascination with this specific area really started for me, because sleep, not good, was not good at all during those, during those months, years, whatever.
10:48
Um, and it, it was hard, right? And but I had to be there, obviously, for the boys and show up as fully as possible, and I did.
11:01
But looking back, if I had been taking more steps to really try at least to foster my own sense of wellbeing within that sleep deprivation, within all of it, who knows what it would've looked like.
11:15
I mean, it was fine.

We've talked about this a little bit, but maybe if you could share some more practical examples of what resilient parenting really looks like during challenges like sleep deprivation or feeding challenges or emotional overload or whatever it is that's happening.
