Um, I, I like to quote one of my council members here, who said, um, "Philanthropy needs to be in this for the long haul, but the way in which philanthropy sh- the source of the philanthropy might shift." Um, with Press Forward and the Washington News Fund, we're talking about those kind of big initial catalytic dollars, right? Um, and, uh, the catalytic funding or bridge funding, however you wanna describe it, um, helps, uh, helps a news outlet, uh, give, like, the wiggle room for, um, innovation, for finding their own sustainability.

And then the philanthropy might then shift into more of a, uh, smaller gifts for more donors, or direct gifts from, uh, major donors, right, to that, um, as opposed to a large gift from the fund, right? So I think we can provide that, uh, that bridge that some of these outlets need.
